Priest caught selling Marijuana

The neck tie, the shiny suits with a passionate embrace of a bible by the chest is one thing priests are good at; well, this time round, things looked pretty much the same, just like any other Sunday. Worshippers trooped the church to celebrate mass and as usual, the man of God was at his best to deliver the sermon.

As police investigations reveal, the baron, only identified as father Mike (Identity hidden for security reasons) is believed to be high above the chain of a notorious drug cartel in the country. With several bundles of marijuana found hidden in his cubicle, the congregation was left shocked when police pounced in the middle of the sermon to apprehend the drug lord. Mama John, a lifetime worshiper at the church could not hide her disappointment in their highly trusted shepherd who had shamelessly defiled the altar of God; she wept.

Cases of drug trafficking have been on the rise in the recent past with President Uhuru Kenyatta giving a stiff warning to drug peddlers to leave the country at once. According to the National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drugs (NACADA), the use of cannabis rose by a margin of 0.5 percent in the years 2007 to 2012, a very alarming case. Cocaine and heroin have also been reported as a favorite drug for addicts with its use expanding by up to 0.2 percent in 2012.

Owing to the situation, a major drug swoop was launched with a good number of foreigners being deported, top of the list was top Nigerian businessman Anthony Chinedu; something that did not go well with the Nigerian government leading to a several days detention of Kenyan officials that were executing the deportations. The Kenyans have since been released but business between the two countries remains shaky and uncertain. However, a few Nigerian businessmen have shown goodwill and desire to invest in the country, that including Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote who has shown keen interest in the Kenya’s mining sector.

98% of Nairobi women are cheating, poll reveals

According to a recent poll conducted online by a top research firm, your girlfriend or wife could be sleeping somewhere else other than with you. In this era of bad relationships, poor economy and a sharp rise in domestic violence, there is no trust anymore between couples with several engaging in unnoticed string of affairs outside their official relationships. As revealed by the poll which sampled 1,000 Nairobi women of different age groups, professions, race, religion and area of residence, 98% of participants agreed to have cheated on their boyfriends/spouses/husbands at one time with 56% accepting they are currently cheating.

I just don't know who to fix in the 2% that are not cheating

Reasons for Cheating
The law is very clear that every suspect is innocent until proven guilty; cheating girlfriends or wives usually have a good reason to defend themselves against the grave and gross accusations labeled against them. A good number of the poll participants came open to reveal these reasons as the main cause of their straying habits. 28% mentioned they were hitting back at their cheating boyfriends/husbands, 32% indicated they were in pursuit of adventure and money throwing buddies with 35% citing their boyfriends/husbands were not good in bed. 5% belonged to the group that did not know why they were cheating.

Consequences of cheating
Just like every action has a consequence, the poll participants gave some of the consequences they have faced as a result of cheating. Break ups, fights, depression and STD infections are some of the feedback recorded with the worst incidences leading to divorce among married couples and in most fatal cases, assault/murder of cheating couples.

In a recent happening in Nairobi, a woman hired goons to kill her husband whom she claimed was a notorious cheat only for the plan to flop. The woman who is now free after her husband forgave her and withdrew the charges is alleged to have hired undercover CID officers who she thought were crooks, only to realize she was in a mess when the officers arrested her. She had made an initial payment of Shs 40,000 and promising to clear the balance of Shs 160,000 once the deal is sealed, a matter that never materialized. After mediation and talks by family members and legal representatives of both the man and the woman, the matter was settled and a honeymoon for the two love birds followed. The man maintained he forgave the woman because he loved her and that she was the mother to their children.
