Man dies after eating stolen neighbor’s chicken

A middle-aged man has succumbed to stomach pains in the remote village of Kolongolo in Transnzoia County. Wanyonyi Kundu is alleged to have taken a poisonous meal of boiled chicken with a whole plate of Ugali, a delicacy of people from the county. However, reports from our village snitch indicate that poison was no cause of the death. It is believed that Wafula, the owner of the stolen bird, visited a well known witchdoctor to get help after he noticed several chicken disappearing everyday in his compound. The poultry farmer was infuriated by the fact that small children saw a stranger directing the birds into a bushy area before executing the theft. To find a solution to the ever continuing problem, Wafula the farmer asked the doctor to punish the chicken thief in a way he will never repeat, a matter the witchdoctor agreed to. After a few days passed, the curse started taking effect on Wanyonyi Kundu the thief. He kept having stomach upsets and diarhoea all day hence decided to rest in his bed after several visits to the latrine. However, things kept getting worse with foam oozing from the mouth, nostrils and ears. Wanyonyi was pronounced dead on reaching Kitale District hospital where he had been taken by neighbours.
