UON cowardly man gives the public a suicide scare after girlfriend dumps him

The morning was all cool as the day started just like any other normal day, students at the University of Nairobi main campus went about their normal routines, class, library, hostels. Just about mid morning, drama unfolded when a young man believed to be a fresher went mad ruining the whole morning. Calvin (not his real name) had climbed atop a storied building and was threatening to end his life by jumping down.

As everyone gathered around to catch a glimpse, police from the nearby central police station were also called in to intervene. Our campus correspondent dug deep to unravel the root cause of the problem and as the findings, the young man had been dumped the previous night by his girlfriend who is now alleged to be dating a city politician. The young lady who is barely 20 years old has been reported to be living beyond her means, always picked up by big cars in the evenings and has not shown up in class the whole semester. This has angered the boyfriend, now an ex, who laments that he spent all his money on the girl including a loan awarded by HELB hoping she would fall in love with her. However, after the money ran out, the young diva called it quits and opted for a richer man.

As revealed early this year, Campus divas for rich men is the trend in town where campus girls now opt to date older richer and married men who can pamper them with no strings attached; and as the talk in town ‘scratch my back I scratch yours’. A lady whose identity we cannot reveal talked to our correspondent and admitted that she too was dating a married old man who pays for her expenses including rent, shopping, travel and night outs. The fully furnished apartment she lives in is fully paid for by the old man who shows up on weekends only.

The young man climbed down the roof after a priest from a nearby church intervened assuring the boy that God had a better future plan for him.
